Fall 2016 Gala Internship

New York City based non-profit seeks intern to help American Friends of Rabin Medical Center (AFRMC) in all development efforts with a strong focus on the production of the Annual Gala on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in New York City. The intern will participate in all gala planning aspects as well as daily nonprofit organization projects.

Intern will perform various development tasks such as outreach to secure corporate and foundation sponsors, working on the preparation of gala materials, and supporting all aspects of event design (eg: proofing materials, pre-sale letters, silent auction, program, etc.). In this role, the intern will gain general development and event planning experience. The intern will make solicitation calls to corporations and donors to support the Annual Gala. He/She will also perform other duties as assigned including database management and office function tasks. Special events fundraising experience is a plus.

Must be able to make a commitment through the end of November and be able to commit at least two days per week in our office in Manhattan. Hourly rate - dependent on experience.

Candidates must have excellent computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and mail merge, and Outlook. Photoshop and video-editing skills are a plus. Must be email and internet savvy; social media skills a plus. Skill set should include good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, self-starter, writing and communication skills (on the phone and in person), detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
