Chutzpanit: From Campus to the C-Suite is a dynamic new initiative from the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life at NYU that aims to break the glass ceiling for emerging female professionals. We say all women should have a seat at the table, and the confidence to be able to assert, advocate, and advance themselves in a variety of professional and leadership settings.
I’m all for ladies supporting ladies. how does this work?
Advance emerging Jewish female professionals in both the work and communal space by providing bi-weekly skill building, leadership training, and Jewish learning opportunities
Match each participant with a Jewish female mentor who is a senior manager, Jewish communal leader, or industry visionary
Sounds cool, but what am I going to get out of it?
We need women with chutzpah to start the revolution. Here’s what you’ll get out of this semester long cohort experience:
Mentorship, support, and inspiration an incredible Jewish female professional
Bi-weekly cohort meetings focused on professional, communal, and leadership development
Access to various networks and pathways to professional growth
Lina Gamerman, Fall 2017:
“One great aspect of Chutzpanit was the mentorship program. I loved my mentor because we are pursuing the same field...she taught me about negotiation and navigating the day-to-day with colleagues. Chutzpanit taught me to approach the workplace with confidence and that I can do anything I put my mind to.”
Abby Kamen, Fall 2017:
“There have been so many times where I’ve witnessed someone saying something sexist, even a friend, and I just didn’t feel comfortable speaking about it. Since Chutzpanit, I’ve felt more comfortable saying what I mean, speaking up, understanding that what I have to say is valuable and important.”
Gladys Bendahan, Fall 2017:
“I definitely think Chutzpanit is different from everything I’ve done. Chutzpanit is community. Chutzpanit is feminism. Chutzpanit is Judaism. It brings everything together and that’s what I love the most about it.”
